Athletic City Apparel completes the acquisition of Fairweather Johnson

Minneapolis, Minnesota - Duco Capital is pleased to announce the acquisition of Fairweather Johnson, Inc. by its portfolio company, Athletic City Apparel, December 6th, 2024. The company, located in Charlotte, NC, was founded in 2022 by John Rusk with the ambitious goal to fill an unmet market need for 100% recycled knitwear. Fairweather Johnson’s 100% recycled knitwear reduces water consumption by 60 gallons per t-shirt and the carbon footprint by 45%.  Fairweather Johnson will be merged with Athletic City Apparel, retaining the Fairweather Johnson name.

Duco Capital is thrilled to support John and his team in this next stage of growth. “Duco and Athletic City Apparel have been strategic partners and are now looking forward to their support as we take Fairweather Johnson to the next level,” said John. Duco, John, and the Fairweather Johnson team are looking forward to pursuing growth as we work to create a premier promotional apparel company.

Duco would like to thank its partners in this transaction: Ballard Spahr for providing legal counsel, Tradition Bank for financing, and Redpath for providing financial diligence.
