  • Ryan Alberg

    PARTNER

    Ryan has deep buy-side investment experience, working within high-volume M&A environments and UHNW asset management. He worked on the Corporate Development teams for both Ecolab, Inc. and Target Corporation, where he closed over $500mm in high-impact acquisitions and provided insights on large-scale strategic partnerships. Ryan also worked on Abbot Downing’s proprietary fund team, providing analytical and investment insight into a $4B fund and helping to source and recommend alternative investments to a $2B book of business.

    Ryan completed his MBA at the Carlson School of Management where he was President of the Finance Club, he also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University. Ryan stays engaged with the local finance community by leading ACG MN’s case competition, the ACG Cup.

  • Caleb Schmidt

    PARTNER

    Caleb is a committed teammate and partner and has a proven track record of securing successful outcomes in both the military and in business. He served in the US military as a US Navy SEAL.

    After completing his time in the Navy, Caleb worked as a product and segment marketer in the Institutional division at Ecolab, managing $300mm+ portfolios with responsibility for defining the product and segment strategies and driving overall growth. He has worked extensively with operations and logistics teams to optimize cost and has been instrumental in crafting and launching new product offerings.

    Caleb completed his MBA at the Carlson School of Management where he was president of the Veterans club. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota with a double major in Genetics and Neuroscience

  • Paul Meyering

    PARTNER

    Paul has over 30 years of experience in private equity, mezzanine, and investment banking.

    Immediately prior to joining Duco Capital, Paul spent 10 years at Spell Capital, a private equity firm, and was responsible for all aspects of acquiring, managing, and divesting private company investments. Prior to that, Paul was the President of Medallion Capital, the mezzanine and private equity arm of Medallion Financial Corp. for 13 years where his responsibilities included managing the operations, P & L and portfolio of over 25 mezzanine investments. Before that, Mr. Meyering was Vice President of Corporate Finance for Dougherty Summit Securities where he developed and implemented financing strategies and coordinated mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raising transactions. He also has experience in venture capital, asset-based lending, and asset securitization.

    Paul has served on the Board of Directors of numerous private companies and served as President of the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

    Mr. Meyering holds an undergraduate degree in finance and economics from Northwest Missouri State University and an MBA in finance from the University of Minnesota.
